Night with the Bush Curlews by Maria Caesar

     Members of the Bush Curlews Writers Group will step up to the microphone during this year's Ten Days in the Towers celebrations.

    On Wednesday night, 1 May, the Bush Curlews and the Charters Towers Civic Club will combine their efforts to bring forth a night of good food and light-hearted entertainment.

     The event will commence at 6:30pm in the Civic Club restaurant with a delicious country style feast of corned beef, vegetables and damper. Then at 7:30pm diners can sit back and relax as the Bush Curlews present a collection of entertaining short stories and poems written by members of the Club.

     "This is a great opportunity for us to promote our group and our writings", says Maria Caesar, the Club Secretary. "We have gathered quite a varied selection for presentation on the night to appeal to a wide range of interests."
